Peter Andre Breaks Silence on Katie Price Marriage in New Documentary Series
Peter Andre Speaks on Katie Price Marriage in Doc Series

Peter Andre has offered a rare insight into his time with Katie Price for her new documentary series. The singer and former I'm A Celebrity star, 53, was married to Katie from 2005 until 2009 after meeting on the ITV show in 2004.

Following their own reality TV series, the couple had a falling out and exchanged harsh words for some time. However, in recent years, Andre has declined to comment on the marriage for the sake of their two children, Junior and Princess.

Andre's Statement on the Marriage

When asked to reflect on the marriage featured in Katie's new documentary series, Andre provided a statement displayed on screen at the conclusion of episode three. He stated: "I have chosen not to speak publicly about these matters out of love and respect for Junior and Princess. Today Katie and I maintain an amicable relationship in the interests of our children. I sincerely wish her happiness and peace for the future."

Katie Price's Reflections

In her new Sky documentary, Katie remarks: "By the end of it I was smitten with him. Meeting Pete and being with Pete were the best times of my life, without a doubt. I had my prince, I knew I would be with him forever." But 'forever' lasted only a few years. The couple began to quarrel over work, and Peter suspected Katie had become close to other men.

Katie concedes that she found their agent Claire Powell "suffocating" at times and missed posing for photoshoots as Jordan, preferring her new, more wholesome image with Peter. Reflecting on the abrupt split, she describes it as "like a dagger in the heart" and insists she didn't want to part ways.

Communication Breakdown

In the fourth episode, she adds: "For people looking in we were the perfect couple. But there were things that weren't right. It's all about communication and we didn't communicate, but we could have worked through it. We could have done, looking back. Can't turn the clock back now, it's weird."

A Fresh Start

Katie premiered the series at the Sheffield Documentary Festival last month, stating it marked a fresh start. She said: "I am so proud, you know. I've got beautiful kids. I've still got an amazing family. There's not that many friends left for me, because I've learned that some of the friends are people I've needed to get rid of. But I am definitely the best version I've ever been of myself. It's like I've been in a washing machine and come out the other side with the experience and the knowledge, and I am at peace with myself. I feel like I'm starting my career again, and this is the start of my new career."

Despite being currently married to Lee Andrews, she hinted at possibly marrying again in the future, adding: "What am I going to be like in 20 years? I should certainly look different, my face will be up here. How many more marriages? I don't know."
