Peter Andre Opens Up About the Fear of Kids Launching Careers
Peter Andre on Kids' Careers: 'It's Always Scary'

Peter Andre has opened up about the anxiety parents face when their children launch their own careers, saying "it's always scary" and that "you have to take the good with the bad." The 53-year-old singer, who shares Junior, 21, and Princess, 19, with ex-wife Katie Price, has watched both children step into the public eye in recent years.

Junior and Princess Forge Their Own Paths

Junior is making waves in the music industry, while Princess is currently filming the second series of her ITV2 reality show The Princess Diaries. Andre's comments came after noticing that Britney Spears' sons, Sean, 20, and Jayden, 19, walked the runway at Paris Fashion Week.

Writing in his new! magazine column, Andre said: "Britney's sons Sean and Jayden have made their debut in the spotlight in their own right - by walking the runway at Paris Fashion Week. It is amazing when you're a parent in the public eye and you see your kids do things - especially when they're determined and they are the ones who push for it."

Nothing Guaranteed Without Hard Work

Andre emphasized that success requires effort, regardless of industry. "But nothing is guaranteed unless they work hard to achieve it regardless of what industry they are in. It's always scary for them because you want them to do well and not deal with the heartache if things don't go quite to plan, but you always have to take the good with the bad."

Andre, now married to Emily MacDonagh and father to Millie, 12, Theo, nine, and Belle, two, shot to fame with his 1995 hit "Mysterious Girl." He also reflected on how the song became his signature track, comparing it to Stockard Channing's experience with Grease.

Reflecting on 'Mysterious Girl' and Life's Unexpected Turns

Andre wrote: "Grease icon Stockard Channing, who played Rizzo in the film, gave a rare interview and it was so interesting to know that, at the time, it was all just a way for her to pay the mortgage and she of course had no idea the phenomenon it would become. She also said that she wanted to be made to look younger because of course she was in her thirties playing a teenager."

He continued: "On a much smaller scale, a similar thing happened to me with Mysterious Girl. I wrote the song with my friends and, at the time it seemed like the easiest song to do, but that ended up being a worldwide hit. It's bizarre because even thirty years later people send me videos from around the world where it's being played in clubs. You just never expect it."

Andre concluded: "Imagine if Stockard didn't take that role, or if I didn't write Mysterious Girl. Life has a strange way of deciding what works out."
