Paris Jackson denies supporting Michael Jackson biopic after Colman Domingo comments

Paris Jackson has publicly rejected claims that she supports the forthcoming biopic about her father, Michael Jackson, after actor Colman Domingo suggested otherwise. The Oscar nominee had told People that Paris and her brother Prince were “very much in support of our film” and that their guidance was “very helpful” for his portrayal of their grandfather, Joe Jackson.

However, Paris took to Instagram on 2 September to clarify her involvement. “I read one of the first drafts of the script and gave my thoughts on what was dishonest/didn’t sit right with me and when they didn’t address it I moved on with my life. Not my monkeys not my circus,” she wrote, adding “God bless and god speed.”

Domingo has not yet responded to Paris’s comments. The Independent has contacted his representative for comment. The actor had previously told People he was drawn to the role because of the Jackson family’s cultural significance, saying he wanted to “find their humanity, their heart and their humor.”

The biopic, titled Michael and directed by Antoine Fuqua, will be produced across two films starring Jaafar Jackson as his late uncle. The first film will focus on Michael’s early career with The Jackson 5, while the second is expected to cover the rest of his career but reportedly sidestep the child sexual abuse allegations that dogged the singer until his death in 2009.
