Pamela Anderson's marriage to Jon Peters lasted just 12 days, ending when the 74-year-old film producer reportedly sent the actress a text message calling off the union. According to Us Weekly, which obtained the message, Peters wrote that their 'beautiful amazing love fest' had scared him, adding that at his age he needed 'a simple quiet life and not an international love affair.'
The couple, who have known each other for more than 30 years, spent only five days together as newlyweds. Anderson, 52, was at her home in Canada for half of the marriage before receiving the text. Sources told People that legal paperwork for the marriage was never filed, and the pair agreed to 'put it off' after realising they had never lived together.
In a statement to the Hollywood Reporter, Anderson said: 'We would be very grateful for your support as we take some time apart to re-evaluate what we want from life and from one another. Life is a journey and love is a process.' The couple reportedly remain friends following the split.
Anderson and Peters met in the 1980s at Hugh Hefner's Playboy mansion. The actress has been married three times previously: to Tommy Lee, Kid Rock, and Rick Soloman (twice).
