Alan Carr has revealed that his friendship with singer Paloma Faith has soured after he 'killed' her character on the BBC show The Celebrity Traitors. The 49-year-old comedian, one of the first ever celebrity traitors alongside Jonathan Ross and Cat Burns, confessed on his podcast Life's A Beach that Faith is unhappy about being murdered in plain sight.
Speaking to co-host Norman Cook, Carr said: 'I've killed Paloma Faith... she's not happy about it.' He noted that Faith had taken to TikTok to express her disappointment, saying he had let her down. Carr defended his actions, stating: 'I'm the traitor. The show's called The Traitors. It does what it says on the tin.'
Faith, who was the first star eliminated, later appeared on The Celebrity Traitors: Uncloaked where she learned the identities of the traitors. Upon discovering Carr was one, she remarked: 'I feel really even more betrayed now' and added that she hopes the traitors 'never call me again'. She insisted she would not have done the same to Carr.
The singer previously described her time on the show as 'nerve wracking', admitting her big personality made it difficult to stay under the radar. She confessed: 'I don't think my technique was great in this game, but it works very well in real life.'
The Celebrity Traitors airs on BBC One and BBC iPlayer on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 9pm.
