Nicole Kidman went viral in December 2024 after a red carpet interview with Pop Crave where she appeared dismissive of the outlet, but a top Hollywood producer has now revealed the actress is 'funnier than you'd think'. The 'Big Little Lies' producer Bruna Papandrea defended Kidman's personality, calling her 'very Australian and funny'.
The viral moment occurred while Kidman was promoting her film 'Babygirl'. She asked the reporter to repeat the outlet's name before shrugging, glancing away, and laughing, which divided fans. Some praised her 'offline queen' energy, while others called her behavior 'rude'.
Papandrea, speaking at the Tropfest launch event in Sydney, said: 'I've worked with some really funny people... Nicole Kidman's kind of funnier than you'd think. She's made comedies, but as a person, she's very funny.'
Kidman is currently the favorite for the Best Actress Oscar for her role in 'Babygirl', where she plays a high-powered CEO who has an affair with a younger intern. The sexually charged role required breaks from filming sex scenes, with Kidman telling Vanity Fair: 'It left me ragged... I don't want to be touched. I don't want to do this anymore.'
