Sharon Osbourne has disclosed the final words her husband Ozzy Osbourne spoke to her before his death in July at the age of 76. In an interview with Piers Morgan Uncensored, she recalled that during his last night at their Buckinghamshire home, Ozzy asked her to “kiss me” and “hug me tight”.
The Black Sabbath frontman, who had been diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 2019, died less than an hour after those words. Sharon described how Ozzy had been restless during the night, and at around 4.30am he woke her. She said: “He worked out for 20 minutes and passed away.”
She ran downstairs to find paramedics attempting resuscitation, but she knew instantly he was gone. “I’m like, ‘Don’t — just leave him. Leave him. You can’t. He’s gone’,” she said. Despite efforts, he was pronounced dead.
Weeks before his death, Ozzy had performed at the Back To The Beginning concert in Birmingham, despite doctors warning he might not survive. Sharon said he was determined: “He just wanted it so bad to say thank you to everyone.”
Since his death, fans have paid tribute at the Black Sabbath Bench on Broad Street and during a cortege procession on July 30. Sharon admitted she is still adjusting: “Everything in my life now is like ish … it’s OK, all right. I’m OK. That’s it for now.”
The interview comes as the couple’s son Jack and his wife Aree expect their second child, and following Jack’s emotional exit from I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!, where he spoke about his father’s passing.
