Oasis fans who secured early access codes have spoken of their joy after purchasing tickets for the band's long-awaited reunion tour. The Manchester Britpop group confirmed their comeback on Tuesday, with Noel and Liam Gallagher declaring: “The great wait is over.”
Urban Newton, a 25-year-old marketing assistant from Hull, told the PA news agency he was “in tears” after buying tickets on Friday. “I’ve been on the mailing list for five years and it finally paid off,” he said. “I refused to get even remotely excited until those tickets were mine and they actually are.”
Natallya Teixeira, 32, who is based in Ireland, purchased a ticket for the Dublin show at €196.25. “I got my presale code this morning and I was very excited about that,” she said. “The process was very quick – it took 21 minutes total.”
Alice Boorer, a 24-year-old teaching assistant from Liverpool, described herself as “ecstatic” after securing tickets to see the band in Manchester with a friend. “Both our dads played Oasis growing up so we’ve both been waiting for this day a long time,” she said.
Prices for the UK dates began at £73 for Cardiff’s Principality Stadium, while the most expensive package at London’s Wembley Stadium cost £506.25. Tickets for the 15 UK shows go on general sale at 9am on Saturday, with Dublin tickets available from 8am.
