The photos, posted this week, display a mix of pointed and round studs protruding from the backs of her hands, fingers and wrist, though it remains unclear whether the piercings are real or fake.
The reveal coincided with the surprise release of a new rap song by North, titled 'PIERCING ON MY HAND', on Friday. The track's credits on Spotify were left blank, while YouTube credits state it was written, produced and performed by North alone. A source told the Daily Mail that West did not contribute to the production, though North performed the song when she joined him on stage in Mexico City last week.
The song opens with soul horns and guitars, with North rapping lines such as 'Piercing on my hand, the other holdin' bands' and 'shoppin' in Japan'. The lyrics also include references to skipping school, her fashion choices, and a desire for 'more piercings and tats'. In one verse, she taunts: 'You are so angry that I'm so mainstream / dissed her once, now she wanna replace me.'
This is not the first time North has faced criticism over body modifications. She initially debuted dermal piercings on her fingers in November, prompting fans to voice concerns about the 'high-risk' body art. North responded at the time with a simple 'It's okay' and a heart-shaped hands emoji. In December, she addressed critics in a TikTok video.
Kim Kardashian has previously spoken about North's homeschooling and hands-on music course, revealing on a podcast in January that North often spends eight-hour sessions producing and writing music. The Daily Mail has contacted Kardashian's representative for comment on the latest piercings.
