Strictly Come Dancing star Nikita Kuzmin's girlfriend, Lauren Jaine, has revealed the horrific second degree burns she suffered across her stomach after a spillage accident.
The model took to social media over the weekend as she revealed the extent of her injuries to her TikTok followers while replacing her bandages.
Incident on Flight from Italy
Detailing the incident, she told followers that they were on the flight back from their holiday in Italy, when she ordered a hot chocolate that spilled all over her lap.
When the plane landed back in the UK, paramedics were called to assist with the horrific burns she suffered on her stomach.
“I am going to do a story time about how I got second degree burns all over my stomach and my legs while I redo my bandages,” she said, before warning: “If you don’t like gruesome things, don’t watch. I got my hot chocolate and I don’t really know what happened but I think Nikita nudged me.”
Nikita's Response
Hitting back at the claim, Nikita said: “No, I’m not doing this with you. She literally always put hot chocolate on herself. She is a little bit clumsy, and you put stuff all over yourself all the time.”
“I poured the hot chocolate all over my stomach,” the model continued as she revealed her injuries to the camera. “And then I had to run to the bathroom whilst I was burning and I don’t think you really knew what was going on.
“And the air hostesses were giving me ice and burn creams and everything, and then when we landed, the pilot made this super embarrassing announcement where he basically said, ‘Everyone stay on the plane. The paramedics are coming’, which is super embarrassing.”
Concerns About Scarring
As she applied antiseptic cream and changed the gauze on her dressing, Lauren reached out to viewers for any tips and tricks on preventing the burns from scarring.
“If anyone has had a scald before, please let me know what you did to like help scarring because I’m so worried I’m gonna have a massive scar here, which is not ideal.
“So if anyone has any tips or like lotions or special things I can put on this to help it heal the best, that would be amazing.”
Nikita was first linked to model Lauren in 2024, following his rumoured romance with Charlie Backshall, and they have remained inseparable ever since.
He previously opened up about their bond in a chat with OK! Magazine, sharing last year: "I'm really lucky to have a supportive family and girlfriend. I always call my mum on my way home, and when I get back, I have Lauren waiting for me."
"We make time for each other," he insisted. "It's less about what we do and more about simply being together and respecting each other's space."
