Nicole Scherzinger has broken her silence after fans were left waiting for over an hour for her performance to start at the Royal Albert Hall. The former X Factor judge and Pussycat Dolls star said she was 'devastated and horrified' to learn that attendees had been seated since 7.15pm while she believed the show was due to start at 8pm.
Fans who paid up to £150 for tickets were reportedly growing frustrated as the gig failed to begin at the scheduled 7.30pm. When Scherzinger eventually took the stage, she performed six songs before heading straight into the interval, prompting some audience members to leave at that point.
In an interview, Scherzinger explained that she had been trying to ensure her one-woman show was 'planned to perfection' and had mixed up the timings. 'It wasn't until after I was done that I found out people had been sitting there for so long,' she said, adding that she would have been frustrated herself in their position.
Despite the delay, Scherzinger thanked fans for staying, saying that by the end of the performance 'they were all up on their feet dancing with me'. She also noted that she was unable to soundcheck all her songs with the orchestra, which contributed to the late start.
