Nickelodeon star Christy Knowings dies aged 46

Christy Knowings, the actor and comedian known for starring in Nickelodeon's sketch show All That, has died at the age of 46. She suffered an asthma attack that reportedly left her with brain damage.

Death in Los Angeles

Knowings died in Los Angeles on Tuesday after being taken to hospital days earlier. According to TMZ, she suffered an asthma attack on Friday and was placed on life support after sustaining brain damage. Her family made the decision to remove her from life support on Tuesday night.

Her aunt, Tyleah Joseph, announced her death on Facebook the following day. Her manager, Al Hill, remembered her as a dedicated performer.

Career on All That

Knowings joined All That in 1997 and was a main cast member for three seasons between 1997 and 2001. She was discovered through the pilot of And Now This, a sketch comedy project produced by Rosie O'Donnell. Her fellow cast members included Amanda Bynes, Kenan Thompson, Kel Mitchell, Lori Beth Denberg and Josh Server. Nick Cannon and Gabriel Iglesias later joined the programme.

Knowings returned to All That as a guest star during its 10th season. The show, often described as a Saturday Night Live for children, premiered in 1994 and launched the careers of many stars.

Other work and family

Knowings also appeared with her twin brother, Chris Knowings, in three episodes of Sesame Street. Her death is the second tragedy to hit the All That family this year. Former cast member Kianna Underwood died aged 33 in early 2026 after a hit-and-run crash.
