A Neighbours star has announced that she and her husband, who she has previously called her 'step-brother', are expecting their second child. Scarlet Vas, who first played policewoman Mishti Sharma in the Australian soap in 2017, revealed that she and Tayo Ricci have another baby on the way.
Sharing the news on social media, the couple wrote: 'We couldn't keep this a secret any longer…'
Family background and relationship
The pair, who are already parents to daughter Silva who was born in December 2024, first met as teenagers while growing up in Melbourne. However, explaining their unusual family connection, Scarlet has previously said that their families knew each other before they met and introduced them. Their parents then also began to start dating, which led Scarlet to occasionally refer to Tayo as her 'step-brother'. Their parents later began dating, leading Scarlet to occasionally describe Tayo as her 'step-brother'. However, the duo have stressed that they are not biologically related.
Reaction to backlash
Speaking to news.com.au, Scarlet said that the backlash over their relationship doesn't affect them. 'I don't really read our comments section, but if I do, I actually laugh. We find trolls very entertaining,' she said. 'If something's really negative, we might comment back, we find it is quite a good disarming tactic.'
OnlyFans earnings
This comes after Scarlet revealed that she was making a fortune by posting snaps of herself with Tayo on OnlyFans. Speaking on the Uncensored Podcast with Mario Adrion last year, she shared that after setting up an OnlyFans account, she 'wasn't earning a lot' to begin with. She said: 'I mean the fans love us as like a thing or not a thing. He's my stepbrother and Australian and we've known each other for a very long time.' As the hosts asked whether Tayo helps with her content, he said: 'I would say partially yeah. Definitely on hers.' Scarlet added: 'Yeah he always makes appearances on mine.'
