Mis-Teeq singer Su-Elise Nash has said she was stunned to learn the band has split, just a week after their reunion concert, despite believing they were ready to continue their comeback.
In an Instagram post, Nash said she had expected to confirm further shows as soon as today, but found out about the disbandment only after media reports published a press release. She described the news as "news to me" and shared a poster advertising bandmate Sabrina Washington's solo tour.
Nash's surprise at split announcement
Nash wrote that she believed today was the deadline to decide on "some incredible Mis-Teeq offers for 2027", including headlining a major UK festival, performing at another huge UK festival, and potentially taking the show regional for fans who could not attend Wembley.
She added: "After the incredible response to our sold-out Wembley Arena show, I genuinely believed these were opportunities we were all excited about and hopefully saying YES to today as Mis-Teeq! So to find out that a press release went out to media today saying ‘Mis-Teeq have split’ has taken me by surprise."
Bandmates respond to split
Sabrina Washington, 47, Alesha Dixon, 47, and Su-Elise Nash, 45, performed at Wembley to mark 25 years since their debut album Lickin’ on Both Sides. Original member Zena McNally also made a surprise appearance.
Washington told The Sun: "We have had such a massive year together and I’m really proud of what we achieved. We got to come back 25 years later, perform together again and finish with a sold-out Wembley show. It was a really special way to celebrate everything the three of us created together."
She added: "But there aren’t any further Mis-Teeq dates or new music planned and we’ve all gone back to doing our own things now. For me, though, I wasn’t ready for the celebration to end there."
What's next for the stars
Washington is said to be working on a show that will include Js, dancers, special guests, surprises and familiar faces from the industry joining her at different dates. As for Nash, it remains to be seen what her next move is, with rumours suggesting she may enter the I'm A Celebrity camp later in the year.
