Sue Radford, matriarch of Britain's biggest family, has finally addressed the reported feud with her daughter Millie, describing the fallout as "water under the bridge". The mother of 22 spoke out in a new interview ahead of her book release, dismissing the public spat that made headlines last year.
The rift emerged in April 2023 when Millie, then pregnant with her third child, accused her parents of making money from their grandchildren and choosing favourites. She claimed Sue and Noel had excluded her two children, Ophelia Jo and Chester Bleu, from a family holiday to Florida, despite them being regularly featured on the family's Channel 4 show, 22 Kids and Counting.
Millie's Instagram post, which she later deleted, prompted a cryptic response from Sue on a family Facebook video, where she urged followers not to comment on Millie while the family were on holiday. The pair never publicly explained how they healed the relationship, but in September Sue was by Millie's side when she gave birth to her daughter Elodie-Jade. Now Sue has confirmed the argument is firmly in the past.
Speaking to OK! magazine, Sue also addressed speculation about the family's finances, insisting they do not claim benefits. "People just jump to conclusions. We don't claim benefits - the pie company is very successful and so is our media business. We work hard but we're not millionaires! The nastiness is upsetting though. We just want to be able to give our children the best possible life," she said.
The Radfords run a thriving bakery business alongside their TV show, now in its fourth series, and a suite of social media channels. Sue admitted the family's size was never planned, revealing: "We're proud to be Britain's biggest family but we'd only planned on having about three... We're addicted to children – but as addictions go, it's not a bad one because it's motivated by love. We have plenty to go round."
