Mica Paris Quits Yo-Yo Dieting After 25 Years in Spotlight

Soul singer Mica Paris has declared an end to her lifelong battle with yo-yo dieting, having lost two stone in 12 weeks. The 5ft 11in star, who has fluctuated between a size 8 and 16 over her 25-year career, says she has finally 'cracked' healthy eating.

Paris, 44, revealed she once starved herself on coffee and cigarettes to achieve a size 10 for album covers, only to regain weight afterwards. 'I've been every size there is,' she said. 'Now I'm done with yo-yo diets.'

The singer credited the 123 hello me system, which combines sensible eating, exercise and fat-binder pills, for her recent weight loss. She now fills half her plate with vegetables and has cut out sugar, which she says caused energy crashes and abdominal fat.

Paris also spoke about the pressure to stay slim in the music industry, recalling a record label executive who told her she looked 'like two people in one body' after she gained weight following childbirth. 'I felt under enormous pressure to be thin,' she said.

Personal struggles, including bankruptcy and relationship breakdowns, contributed to her weight gain. 'Perhaps eating lots was a form of sadness,' she admitted. Now, Paris says she feels renewed energy and loves being a size 12 again.
