Jeremy Freeman, a professional lip reader, analysed the video, which shows the couple standing close together in what looks like an intense, private conversation. According to Freeman, Melania first said: "That's the problem, people react." Her husband replied: "We'll knock it off." This seemingly sparked more anger in the former model, who replied in a "snappy" tone: "Are you?"
She continued: "It happened two times," to which Donald replied: "I know." Then, in one final comment, Melania supposedly said: "I can't take anymore."
Online reaction and context
The clip has prompted a wave of reaction online, with some users suggesting it looked like a serious discussion. One wrote: "She wanted EVERYONE to know how p****d she was lol." A second added: "To me it looks like they are having a serious discussion about something," while another commented: "I don't think I've ever seen them interact this much in public."
The President and First Lady were reportedly accompanied at the race by family members and White House staff, including Trump's executive assistant Natalie Harp. In separate footage from the same event, Harp is seen approaching Trump to speak with him briefly after Melania walks away.
