Meghan Markle's UK popularity unlikely to recover, poll finds

A recent poll of royal fans has revealed that Meghan Markle is unlikely to rebuild her popularity in the UK. The Duchess of Sussex, 45, returned to Britain last month with Prince Harry and their two children, attending a meeting with King Charles and Queen Camilla at Highgrove House.

Poll Results Show Overwhelming Disapproval

The poll, conducted between July 21 and 22, found that Harry is favoured by just 29% of Britons, while Meghan is liked by only 22%. The results come as a blow to the couple, who have been trying to mend relations with the royal family.

Of the 3,190 fans who voted in a separate poll between August 5 and 6, a staggering 3,142 said they believe Meghan cannot rebuild her popularity. Only 31 thought she could, with 17 unsure.

Fan Reactions

One fan commented: "She's done!" Another added: "No way on Gods Earth!!" A third said: "I'm sorry she's burnt her bridges as has her husband. We might forgive but we'll never trust or forget."

The most disliked royal remains Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, who lost his royal titles and honours last year over his connection to the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

Prior to her most recent trip, the Duchess of Sussex last visited the UK in 2022.
