Meghan Markle's 'As Ever' Newsletter Sparks Fan Backlash
Meghan Markle's Newsletter Sparks Fan Backlash

Meghan Markle faced criticism from fans after her latest newsletter for her lifestyle brand, As Ever, was branded "fake" and "pretentious" on social media. The Duchess of Sussex sent the message to her customers on Thursday evening, describing her "summer in the garden" and the "simple pleasures" of the season, such as fresh flowers, herbs, and fruit.

The newsletter read: "There is a certain rhythm to summer: The first flowers opening in the morning. Herbs gathered for the table. Fruit ripening in the warmth of the day. So many of our products in the As Ever collection began with an appreciation for these simple pleasures, what we planted and grew in our backyard, and the joy that has come from sharing them."

Fans React on Social Media

The message was accompanied by a photo of Meghan in a blue blouse, sniffing a white flower. However, some fans were unimpressed by the polished tone. One user on X wrote: "Who talks like that?! Seriously!" Another commented: "Good grief! How fake and pretentious."

A third user added: "Who gardens in diamonds???? Who can grow all the ingredients for her food line in their backyard. WAKE UP PEOPLE. FAKE FAKE FAKE." Another joked: "I guess I forget to take out my herbs to warm by the sun in the summertime."

New Product Launch

The newsletter also highlighted Meghan's new blackberry spread, which is now available for purchase on her website. Despite the backlash, the duchess continues to promote her brand, which focuses on home and lifestyle products.
