Meghan Markle has been savaged by one of her usual critics, who claimed that Hollywood is done with the former actress. Gossip columnist Rob Shuter said he believes Meghan is not very well-liked in celebrity circles.
Martha Stewart's Dinner Party Claims
It comes after famed lifestyle guru Martha Stewart claimed she was at a dinner party also attended by Markle, during which the latter allegedly discussed her recent reunion with King Charles III, even though it was not to be discussed with anyone outside of the firm.
"I had dinner with Meghan Markle the other night," Martha said in an interview with People Magazine. "We were both guests at a dinner party in California. And she had just gotten back from the palace. I didn’t talk to her really more than to say a couple of words, but I know she was talking about it."
Meghan's Dispute and Career Pivot
A source said that Meghan disputed the claims made by Martha, and that the lifestyle guru must have been "confused" by what she heard. Martha also addressed Meghan's latest career pivot in the same interview, questioning how someone could successfully go from actress to princess to lifestyle guru.
Reactions from Critics
The reactions have barely stopped coming since the interview was released, and Meghan's top critics are once again taking aim at the former royal. "Harry still has some affection towards him in Hollywood," Shuter said in a chat during a recent episode of The Nerve with Maureen Callahan. "Meghan does not."
He added: "They don’t like her. They tolerated her. They pretended to tolerate her in the beginning, and now she’s intolerable. They just don’t want her. And to think that of all the people that she’s decided now to pick a fight with, it’s Martha Stewart, who Hollywood does like. They think Martha’s ridiculous, but she’s in on the joke."
Reacting to what Martha said about Meghan's career journey, Shuter said that Martha "said what we’re all thinking, and she put it in such a concise way".
