Meghan Markle accused of laughing at model's runway fall

Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, has faced criticism after appearing to laugh at a model who fell on the runway during Balenciaga's Paris Fashion Week show. Footage shows Meghan attempting to speak with actress Dame Kristin Scott Thomas, who reportedly turned away from her.

The incident adds to a series of awkward moments during her Paris trip. Earlier, Meghan posted a video on Instagram showing her with feet up on car seats near the Pont d'Alma tunnel, where Princess Diana died. Royal fans called the post "thoughtless" and "insensitive beyond belief."

A Sussex source told Newsweek that critics drew a "tenuous link" between the post and Diana's death, adding that Meghan was unaware the underpass was nearby. The source described the criticism as "the insensitive bit."

Meghan attended the Balenciaga show to support new creative director Pierpaolo Piccioli, with whom she has collaborated on previous designs. Her spokesman said the duchess has long admired Piccioli's craftsmanship and modern elegance.

This marked Meghan's first trip to Europe since the 2023 Invictus Games in Düsseldorf, Germany.
