Maya Jama's blunt answer to midnight booty call dilemma
Maya Jama's blunt midnight booty call dating advice

Maya Jama has shared her no-nonsense dating advice after being asked to weigh in on a series of tricky relationship dilemmas, including what to do when someone only calls after midnight.

The Love Island presenter, who is gearing up for The Celebrity Traitors final tonight, teamed up with dating app Bumble for its Bee Line series, where singles put their romantic problems to her.

Midnight Calls and Car Doors

In a clip shared on social media, Maya was asked how she would react if someone she was dating only ever called after midnight. She didn't hesitate with her answer, making it clear she wasn't interested in entertaining the situation.

Maya said: "Oh, absolutely not. We all know what that one is... There could be a billion reasons why they're only calling you after midnight, and all of them are bad."

She was also asked whether she would hang up on someone who failed to open the car door for her. The presenter admitted it depended on the person, explaining that some people place a lot of importance on traditional gestures while others are perfectly happy looking after themselves.

"It depends. Some people really care about that. Some people don't," she said. "If it's something that is up on your list, then yeah, hang up the phone. But if you're like, I can do it myself. Let's save time. Hop out. Then I think it's minor. I don't think it's that deep."

Date Night Concerns

Maya was then presented with another dating dilemma: someone has planned a date night, but it's already midday and they still haven't sent a message. This time, she was firmly on the side of hanging up.

"Well, I think you should be a bit concerned about that because they should be really excited," she explained. She added that someone arranging a date should be keeping their other half in the loop, including what time they are meeting and how they are feeling about the plans.

"I think you should hang up because anyone taking you out on a date should be very excited," Maya said.

Fan Reaction

Sharing a clip from the series on Instagram, Maya joked that she had "never said I was an expert" but was the person her friends turned to for dating advice.

She wrote: "Been busy on the phones, never said I was an expert but I am the one my girls go to for dating advice. took over @bumble_uki Bee Line full episode on YouTube now.. Bumble partner ad"

Fans were quick to praise the presenter, with one writing: "Iconic!" Another added: "ultimate girls girl." One follower even shared a Bumble success story, commenting: "I met my boyfriend on Bumble in 2021, I'm pregnant with our first baby now!"
