Margot Robbie has revealed a little-known secret about how risqué nude scenes are shot, particularly when they require pubic hair. During an appearance on the Fitzy and Wippa podcast, the Australian actress explained that the film industry uses merkins—a type of wig for genitalia.
Robbie recounted her experience on the set of The Wolf of Wall Street, saying, "They have things called merkins, which is like a wig but for genitalia. I remember on Wolf Of Wall Street there was an entire merkin room, there was a whole room full of merkins. I guess people would go in and pick out, you know... I'm not going to go into detail but it was a fascinating, and little-known fact about the film-making industry."

The actress also shared a mortifying incident involving Leonardo DiCaprio's electric cigarette, which ended up stuck in her "butt crack" during filming. Robbie described the sex scenes with DiCaprio as the "least romantic thing to shoot," adding that the mishap only reinforced how unromantic the experience was. She said, "He probably threw it away. It was so embarrassing. So yeah, sex scenes are super sexy."
Babylon's Wild Set
Robbie's latest project, Babylon, features her character snorting large amounts of white powder and grappling with a rattlesnake. The star even had to advise director Damien Chazelle to reduce the amount of cocaine shown in the film. She explained, "I think the only note I gave Damien... obviously there's a lot of drugs in this movie and I play a character who does tons of drugs. But he would have them rack up lines of coke that were just like the size of hot dogs."
The fake drugs used on set were actually baby laxative, vitamin powder, or icing sugar, as Robbie disclosed.
