Man United Enquired for World Cup Star Gill, Agent Says

Manchester United made an enquiry for Paraguay goalkeeper Orlando Gill, according to his agent Mario Jara. Gill impressed at the World Cup with a high volume of saves for the South American side.

Agent Confirms Talks

Jara told DSports Radio: “We are in talks with English clubs as well as clubs in Germany. There were enquiries with Manchester United. We only received two concrete offers. We are currently in the negotiation phase.” He added that a move to San Lorenzo is close: “The sale is close, the time is right… It’s ideal for him to take a step up in quality.”

United's Goalkeeping Situation

United already have Senne Lammens as No.1, Andre Onana on loan at Trabzonspor, and recently added Karl Darlow on a free transfer from Leeds United. Altay Bayindir and Radek Vitek could also depart. Vitek, who featured in friendlies, said he is ready to find a new club: “I feel great and ready to go again somewhere to be, hopefully, number one… There have been a few interests on the table.”
