Married At First Sight bride Rachel Gilmore has revealed an editing blunder in her debut episode, where her prolonged laughing fit at the altar was actually a series of spliced clips. The 35-year-old pointed out that her bouquet disappeared and reappeared between shots, indicating the scene was not continuous.
Speaking to Pedestrian.TV, Rachel explained: 'The laughing was a lot. I'll be real. It was very clear it was from different parts, because my flowers are there.' The editing fail came to light after Monday's episode showed her breaking into laughter upon meeting groom Steven 'Steve O' Danyluk, 34.
Steven, a marine technician from Sydney, admitted he was overwhelmed on the day. 'I was nervous as anything. I was about to hit the deck,' he told Daily Mail. He revealed his mind briefly went to a dark place, wondering if Rachel was laughing at him.
The couple later addressed Steven's failure to compliment Rachel on her appearance, which left her feeling hurt. Steven apologised and reassured her of his attraction, helping to ease her insecurities from a seven-year situationship.
