Former Love Island contestant Olivia Hawkins has bravely spoken out about her past relationship, describing her ex-boyfriend as "controlling" and revealing the emotional toll it took on her.
The reality TV star, who shot to fame on the hit ITV2 show, shared her story in a candid interview, explaining how she eventually found the courage to leave the toxic situation.
The Shocking Revelations
Olivia didn't hold back when discussing her ex's behaviour: "He would constantly check my phone, question who I was talking to, and try to isolate me from my friends and family," she revealed.
The 27-year-old continued: "At first, I thought it was just him being protective, but over time I realised it was something much darker - he wanted complete control over my life."
Finding Strength to Leave
Olivia credits her time in the Love Island villa with giving her the confidence to walk away: "Being on the show made me realise my self-worth. I knew I deserved better than someone who made me feel small."
She added: "It wasn't easy - I had to rebuild my confidence piece by piece - but now I'm in such a better place mentally and emotionally."
A Message to Others
The TV personality hopes her story will inspire others in similar situations: "If my experience helps even one person recognise the signs of a controlling relationship and find the strength to leave, then speaking out will have been worth it."
Olivia concluded with some powerful advice: "Trust your instincts. If something doesn't feel right in your relationship, it probably isn't. You deserve love that makes you feel free, not trapped."
