Love Island winner Lorenzo Alessi has made a bold gesture by liking Julia Majchrzak's Instagram posts, days after she accused him of 'embarrassing' her by liking photos of models while they were away from the villa.
Lorenzo's Apology Gesture
Since winning the show together, fans speculated about a possible split as Lorenzo had liked pictures of female models but not any of Julia's photos. Lorenzo, 28, claimed it was because her photos hadn't appeared on his feed yet, but Julia, 26, was not impressed.
In a radio interview, Julia said: "Guys, this is not funny. He's already embarrassed me online... He had no time to arrange a date in five days, but was sat in bed liking other girls' Instagram pictures. Did you even have time to like my photos? Guess what, guys, he’s not under my Instagram!"
Lorenzo's Response
Lorenzo has now liked a photo of Julia in a black lace dress, commenting "All over my feed" to reference his previous excuse. He also liked other posts and commented "Liked by Lorenzo."
However, not all fans were impressed. One wrote "Seriously?" while another said he was "so late" with his actions. A third commented: "I understand you need time to figure it all out, and I genuinely hope you learn to love and treat her better as time goes on."
Lorenzo's Apology and Learning
Lorenzo admitted he had messed up and was still "learning what is acceptable." He reminded people that the relationship was still early, saying: "This is the thing. I feel like why I didn't want to rush things in the villa... We're not running around getting married tomorrow. I'm learning how to be in a committed relationship, and I'm learning what is acceptable and what is not."
He added: "To be 100% honest, it was pure naivety. I did not think it would be picked up by the press... These are now real-world things that we can experience together."
Julia's Confrontation
This came a day after Julia confronted Lorenzo live on TV. When This Morning host Josie Gibson asked if they had said they loved each other, they both answered "no." Lorenzo said: "It's going that way. The feelings are developing, everything is in the right position, everything is moving in the right direction…so I feel like give it some time."
Julia then asked: "Well, where’s the date? Where’s the date Lorenzo?" He replied: "The date is coming. I've been busy." But Julia said it had "been five days" and she was "still waiting."
