Two Love Island USA stars recently visited fellow Love Island All Star and Welshman Ciaran Davies at home in Wales, and were shocked to discover that Wales was a separate country to England.
All Stars Edition Brings Together UK and US Contestants
Earlier this year, Love Island fans saw the return of some of their favourite stars in a special All Stars edition of the dating show. This included Welshman Ciaran Davies who went on to win the series with his then partner Samie Elishi.
In a twist to the usual All Stars version of the show, contestants from Love Island USA joined the line-up, which is how Ciaran met his American friends Yamen Sanders and Zac Woodworth.
Shock Discovery in Cardiff
The pair recently hopped on a plane to visit their Welsh pal, and were shocked to discover that Wales was a separate country to England. In a vlog posted to Instagram on Tuesday, August 18, the Love Island stars gallivanted around Cardiff and had some brunch at the Haystack café in Canton, which they called the best breakfast place in Wales.
At the beginning of the video Yamen said: "Alright, we're in Wales and Ciaran is showing us around. Let's get it." He continued: "Never even thought of coming to Wales in my life. Honestly didn't even know it was a different country until Ciaran told me."
Welsh Culture and Cuisine
Ciaran later went on to teach his friends some Welsh phrases like, "Croeso i Gymru," before going to the beach for a cold dip, having some food at the Ivy Asia, and getting some drinks in the centre of Cardiff.
Despite not knowing of the country before visiting, it seems like the American Love Island stars are now big fans of Wales. Zac commented on the video: "Not bad wales. Not bad." Whilst Ciaran said: "When you come back I'm getting you to try a Welsh cake."
