Louise Minchin has "fallen in love" with Puglia, Italy, sharing a series of sun-soaked snaps from her travels. The BBC Breakfast star posed on the beach in a string bikini, telling fans she had managed to enjoy a dip in the sea despite recovering from severe frostbite on her hands and feet.
"I even managed to float on my trusty turquoise lilo in the sea without getting my bandaged toes wet," the presenter wrote on Instagram. "One day I'll go back to swim in Lama Monachile, but in the meantime, I will have to enjoy just looking at the pictures I took of the view. What an extraordinary place. I hope you, too, have had happy holidays this summer."
Postcards from Puglia
Louise was the ultimate beach babe as she posed with her lilo by the sea. The TV star is currently enjoying her first-ever trip to Puglia, where she's been taking a well-deserved break.
"What a special place, historic towns wrapped around beaches, and perched on hillsides, truly beautiful Trulli, fabulous fresh food, and we found a gorgeous and peaceful B&B where every breakfast was a home-grown feast," Louise raved on Instagram.
Posing poolside
Louise looked positively radiant as she chilled by the pool in an aqua bikini. Alongside the snap, the presenter gave an update on her recovery from frostbite.
"Of all the summers not to be able to swim because of my still-healing frostbitten toes, 2026 has been challenging," the BBC star wrote. "But, after some testing, I’ve discovered a way to be in the water without being ‘in’ the water; it’s not as easy as it looks in the first photo! But I was very pleased I managed to match my bikini, my book, and my lilo! #summer #heatwave #book #reading #smallwins."
A dip in the estuary
Last year, Louise embarked on a staycation in Devon. Sharing a video from her cold-water swim, the 57-year-old wrote, "Thank you @adele_parks and @tacket_wood_house for a wonderful weekend right on the estuary in Kingsbridge in beautiful Devon - I couldn’t resist a little dip."
Louise joined a group of friends for a spot of cold water swimming in March 2022. "What an extraordinary experience, to be persuaded to get into freezing water with the awesome ice-swimming queens @swimcathswim, @dee_from_the_sea, @under5degrees, and @elinamae, and what a stunning country Finland is. An incredible place to learn to free-dive under the ice. I will tell you more when I have recovered from the exhilaration!"
Louise packed plenty of books for her trip to Puglia, and she's been sharing her reading recommendations on Instagram this month. Kicking back and relaxing on holiday, the BBC Breakfast star revealed her comfy setup on a lilo.
