Former EastEnders star Lorraine Stanley has revealed a dramatic five stone weight loss, showing off her new slim figure while on holiday in Malta. The 47-year-old actress, best known for playing Karen Taylor on the BBC soap, posed in high-waisted denim shorts and a white vest top alongside friends including Linda Lusardi.
Stanley, who left EastEnders last year after six years, shared the holiday snap on social media, kicking one leg in the air and smiling for the camera. Fans quickly praised her transformation, with comments calling her 'incredible'. In March, she had announced her weight loss journey on Instagram, posting a before-and-after picture with the caption: 'What a difference a year makes. Five stone down, feeling good, clean living, healthy choices, new me, healthy mummy.' She also thanked her personal trainer for helping her achieve her goal.
Stanley confirmed her departure from EastEnders in August last year, expressing gratitude to the show's creators and fans. She wrote: 'I’ll be sad to be saying goodbye to Karen Taylor and will miss all the cast and crew... However I’m looking forward to my next chapter and excited about being a jobbing actor again.' A source said her exit was necessary to keep storylines fresh, noting her 'comic timing' and impact on fans.
Away from the soap, Stanley announced her engagement to long-term partner Mark Perez last summer, sharing a photo with the caption: 'Almost 10 years with you, I can now call you my Fiancé... I can’t wait to marry you.'
