Little Mix's Perrie Edwards Announces Death of Her Dog Hatchi

Little Mix star Perrie Edwards shared an emotional message to announce the death of her dog, Hatchi. The 33-year-old singer, who is married to footballer Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, adopted the Pomeranian in 2012 with her former partner, One Direction star Zayn Malik.

Emotional Tribute on Instagram

Perrie posted on Instagram on Wednesday to announce Hatchi had died. She described Hatchi as a "huge part" of her life in an emotional message shared with her followers. The singer shared a roundup of photos of Hatchi over the years, including images featuring her four-year-old son Axel.

Perrie wrote: "My Hatchi. 14 years with you, and somehow it still could never have been enough. You weren't just my dog. You were my fur baby, my little shadow, my companion and one of the greatest gifts I have ever been given. You were there beside me through every chapter and every milestone of my life. Through the happiest moments and the hardest ones."

Memories and Farewell

She added: "You licked away my tears when I cried, made me laugh when I needed it most, and every morning you would look at me with that little smile that made me feel like I was your whole world. And you were such a huge part of mine." Perrie said Hatchi witnessed several chapters of her life, including touring with Little Mix and going on holidays to Portugal.

She said: "You gave me 14 years of unconditional love, loyalty and memories that I will carry with me for the rest of my life. My heart is completely broken knowing I won't see your little face in the morning, hear your footsteps, cuddle you or have you following me around anymore. The house and my heart already feel emptier without you."

Support from Fans and Friends

Perrie concluded the message with: "I will love you and miss you forever, Hatchi. My first baby, my fur baby, my little companion. A piece of my heart went with you." Fans and friends shared their support, including Little Mix bandmate Jade Thirlwall who said: "Oh Hatchi." Former Love Island star Chris Hughes called the situation "so sad", while model Lauren Pope said she is "so sorry" and sent Perrie "lots of love".

In 2024, Perrie said Hatchi was "a bit poorly", and said it was due to him "getting a bit old". Perrie rose to fame after winning The X Factor in 2011 as part of Little Mix. The group achieved five UK number one singles and one UK number one album. After Jesy Nelson left the band in December 2020, the group performed as a trio until they went on a hiatus in 2022. Perrie has since launched a solo career and released new music including Forget About Us, Tears and You Go Your Way. She recently married Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, and the couple have two children together, Alex, four, and Alanis, one.
