Lil Nas X in Treatment After Arrest for Allegedly Charging at Officers

Attorneys for Grammy-winning artist Lil Nas X have confirmed he is receiving in-patient treatment following his arrest last month on multiple charges. The musician, whose legal name is Montero Lamar Hill, pleaded not guilty to three counts of battery with injury on a police officer and one felony count of resisting an executive officer.

The charges stem from an incident on 21 August, when Hill was allegedly walking in his underwear on a Los Angeles street and charged at police officers who attempted to detain him, injuring three. The Los Angeles district attorney's office described the incident as occurring in the early morning hours in Studio City.

During a court hearing on Monday, Hill's attorneys informed Los Angeles County Judge Shellie Samuels that the 26-year-old was receiving in-patient treatment out of state. Judge Samuels permitted him to remain out of state as long as he continues treatment, according to Rolling Stone.

Attorney Drew Findling stated, 'We're doing what is best for Montero from a personal standpoint and a professional standpoint, but most importantly, for his well-being. He is surrounded by an amazing family, an amazing team of people that care about him and love him.'

Hill rose to fame in 2018 with his record-breaking hit 'Old Town Road', which topped the charts for 19 weeks and earned him two Grammy awards. Following his arrest, he posted a video on social media saying, 'Your girl is gonna be OK, y'all. That was terrifying.'
