Two sex workers have given sworn statements describing how Liam Payne fell into a drink and drug-fuelled rage hours before his death, the Mail on Sunday has reported. Aldana Serrano and Lucila Goitea said they were called to the CasaSur Palermo Hotel in Buenos Aires by the singer on October 16, 2024, and had consensual sex with him.
According to the documents, Liam, 31, became increasingly frustrated when he struggled to pay an agreed $5,000 (£3,700) fee because he did not have access to cash. He allegedly smashed his £30,000 gold Rolex and told them he could “get ten of those” before punching the hotel television three times.
Rage over unpaid fee
The women said Liam then calmed down and fell to his knees, asking them to stay. They recounted that he told them “money didn’t make him happy” before reportedly singing his own songs while drunk and later asking for cocaine.
They said they had sex with him once, with protection, and spent around two hours with him. Because Liam spoke only English and the women spoke Spanish, they communicated using a translation app. When they asked again for the agreed payment, he offered his Rolex, which he then smashed when they refused.
The women’s account
One woman said: “We told him we only wanted money so he took it and smashed it. He told us he didn’t care about the money.” She added: “And then he broke the TV, he punched it. He made us understand that he could smash everything because he knew he could pay for it.”
The women said they decided to leave but claimed Liam followed them into the hotel lobby, where they told staff about the alleged damage and the unpaid money. They later returned briefly to collect belongings, with one recalling: “He apologised for giving us a bad time.”
Background to his final days
Liam had travelled to Argentina 16 days before his death while waiting for his US visa renewal. He spent much of the trip with girlfriend Kate Cassidy and businessman Rogelio “Roger” Nores. He was reportedly sober during the first two weeks of his stay before Kate returned to Miami on October 14 and Nores also left the country.
The singer is believed to have later checked out of the luxury Park Hyatt after allegedly damaging his room and having an angry confrontation with staff. He then moved to the CasaSur Palermo Hotel, where he contacted the two women after finding one of their profiles online.
The final hours
According to their statements, Liam sent pictures of himself in bed and a video proving his identity after one woman struggled to believe she was communicating with the former One Direction star. The women arrived at the hotel at around 11.30am, showed identification at reception and were allowed up to his room.
They said they left shortly before 4pm, with Liam continuing to behave erratically before returning to his room. He fell to his death at 5.07pm. The women said they only discovered what had happened after seeing reports on social media and later gave statements to police.
Toxicology report
A toxicology report released after his death found that Liam had alcohol, cocaine and the powerful sedative Klonopin in his system at the time of his fatal fall.
