Liam Hemsworth and Gabriella Brooks have announced their engagement after nearly six years of a low-key relationship. The 35-year-old actor and the 29-year-old model shared the news on Friday via Instagram, where Brooks posted a series of photos including a close-up of her square-cut diamond bezel ring.
One black-and-white image showed Brooks with her arms wrapped around Hemsworth's chest, displaying the ring on her left hand. The post was captioned with a single white heart emoji, prompting an outpouring of congratulations from friends and fans, including British swimmer Ross Edgley and model Lisa Snowden.
The couple reportedly met in late 2019, shortly after Hemsworth returned to Australia following his split from Miley Cyrus. Brooks, who has fronted campaigns for Calvin Klein and Topshop, previously said she wanted their relationship to remain “sacred,” telling Australia's Daily Telegraph in 2021: “My personal relationship is very, very important and very sacred to me. I feel like in an industry where so much is put on show, there are some things you just want to keep to yourself.”
Last year, a source told Us Weekly that the couple had “no plans on getting married anytime soon,” citing Hemsworth's caution after his first marriage to Cyrus. The actor wed Cyrus in December 2018, but they split eight months later, finalising their divorce in January 2020. Cyrus has since been dating Liily drummer Maxx Morando.
