Liam Gallagher Becomes Grandfather for First Time as Daughter Molly Welcomes Baby Boy

Liam Gallagher has become a grandfather for the first time after his daughter Molly Moorish gave birth to a baby boy named Rudy. The news was announced on 11 October via an Instagram post showing Molly's partner, former Liverpool defender Nat Phillips, holding the newborn. The caption read: 'A message to you, Rudy.'

Molly, 26, is the Oasis frontman's daughter from his relationship with singer Lisa Moorish. She confirmed her romance with Phillips, now at West Bromwich Albion, in 2022. The couple revealed they were expecting a baby in May this year.

Liam reacted to the pregnancy news earlier this year by posting a clip of Clive Dunn's 1970 song 'Grandad' on social media. Molly's mother Lisa Moorish commented on the birth: 'That last slide!!! 'IM RUDY I'M NEW' My beautiful grandson.'

Molly did not meet Liam until she was 20 but has said she holds no anger about growing up without him. She told The Sunday Times in 2019: 'I don't have any anger. I'm 21 now. I'm actually thankful for how I was brought up with my mum and how my life's been.' She has since become close with her half-siblings Gene and Lennon Gallagher.

Nat Phillips, 27, played a key role in Liverpool's 2021 Champions League qualification during an injury crisis. He made 29 senior appearances for the Reds before a permanent move to West Brom in June 2025.
