Lee Andrews, the husband of Katie Price, has called for Good Morning Britain presenter Susanna Reid to be sacked over comments she made about him live on air. During Tuesday's episode of the ITV show, Reid was hosting alongside Martin Lewis when entertainment reporter Richard Arnold provided an update on Andrews' release from prison and Price's new documentary.
Susanna Reid's Eye Roll Comment
As Arnold discussed Price's documentary with Sky and her remark that it should have been eight episodes instead of four because she 'always brings the drama,' a visibly frustrated Reid told her colleague: 'I think my eyes just rolled out of my head.' The comment did not sit well with Andrews, who took to his Instagram stories to express his outrage.
Andrews' Response
In a video shared on his Instagram stories, Andrews said: 'So what is Susanna Reid rolling her eyes at? I'm not going to comment on that because obviously, I'll get onto the sofa with Katie at some point and we'll thrash it out. Then she can be as forthcoming as she likes but to judge me without any evidence and calling me a conman, that's ridiculous. She should lose her job for that.'
He added: 'Your prejudice towards me without actually any solid evidence other than an ex coming forward with a story. If you're an investigative journalist, and surely you should know that.' Andrews then recounted his prison experience, stating that the National Guard who detained him did not register him as being arrested and that he was held in state security.
Previous GMB Interview
This is not the first time Reid has questioned Andrews' reliability. When Price appeared on GMB previously, Reid asked if her husband was 'unreliable,' to which Price responded: 'Not to me.' Reid then said: 'What I love about you Katie is that you're very open, but I just wonder if he's telling you everything.'
Andrews failed to board his flight to the UK for a joint interview with Price on GMB. When the show's team contacted the Foreign Office, a spokesperson said: 'We supported a British man who was detained in the UAE.' Reid then asked Price directly if Andrews had been arrested, to which Price replied: 'No, I feel like they just said it to me in there [backstage] so I just said to Lee apparently a British man has been detained, can you confirm its not you? and he's done a voice note back and said it's not him and sent laughing emojis.'
