KSI Breaks Down in Tears on Britain's Got Talent

Britain's Got Talent judge KSI was overcome with emotion during Saturday night's live semi-final, as a poet's heartfelt performance about fatherhood left the YouTube star in tears. The rapper and internet personality, who found fame online, opened up about his own strained relationship with his father after poet Sonny Green delivered a moving piece alongside his sons.

Emotional Performance

Sonny Green took to the stage in the fourth semi-final of the ITV show, two weeks before the grand final. His poem focused on the bond between a father and his children, with lines such as: "You ain't ever too old to get a cuddle off your dad. And I'll never be too old to get a cuddle off my sons." He also urged his boys to explore the world, saying: "They say the world is your oyster. So give it a crack and find out what each country has inside. I hope it's pearls, my boy, of wisdom and of joy. And you make memories that no one can ever take away."

As the poem concluded, the camera panned to KSI, who was visibly emotional. Judge Alesha Dixon described the performance as "magic." When it came time for KSI to offer feedback, he struggled to speak as Alesha comforted him. "It really hit me," KSI said, adding: "I know my relationship with my dad isn't the best, so hearing those words, it makes me really think about what I need to improve on. I need to do better as a son. It just really hit me, you know, amazing." Amanda Holden was also moved to tears, wiping them away.

Golden Buzzer Moment

Sonny was later awarded Simon Cowell's Golden Buzzer, granting him a direct place in the grand final. Fans praised the decision on social media, with one writing: "Very well deserved too! I'd like to see him go on to win." Another commented: "Congratulations Sonny. Well deserved. I knew from the auditions he would get to the final. Spoken word is hard, but he does it so effortlessly."

Other Performances

The show also featured musician Wei Yamin, who performed a medley of 90s and 00s classics on pipes with dramatic pyrotechnics. However, both Amanda and KSI buzzed him midway through. Amanda explained: "I think if you took away the pyrotechnics and everything else, you've got a man playing the U-bends, so that's me, that's what I think. I just don't feel like that's something I want to put in front of the royal family." KSI dismissed the routine as "poo," adding: "You added fire, still didn't make it good. All I'm saying is, you can't polish a poo." Alesha called his feedback "harsh," while Ant remarked: "Alesha, a little bit of class wouldn't go amiss right now." Simon said he liked the performer but felt the act didn't do enough to secure a final spot.
