Beyond Paradise star Kris Marshall has opened up about a "terrible trait" he possesses, revealing how he has had to learn to calm down in his personal life. The actor, best known for playing DI Humphrey Goodman in Death in Paradise and its spin-off Beyond Paradise, admitted that he often finishes other people's sentences, a habit he described as rude.

Speaking to My Weekly Magazine, the 53-year-old actor said: "I've really had to learn to calm down because my mind is always working 100 miles an hour and I have a terrible trait of finishing other people's sentences." He recalled his late mother's advice: "Don't jump into other people's conversations - it's rude."
Life Away from the Cameras
When not filming, Marshall enjoys sailing and surfing, though he has become more "risk-averse" since becoming a father. He has been married to Hannah Dodkin since 2012, and they have two children: Thomas, 13, and Elsie, 10. "Now I'm a dad, I've become more risk-averse but I still enjoy surfing and sailing and I like to do my own stunts when filming," he shared.
Beyond Paradise Future
The latest series of Beyond Paradise concluded emotionally last week, with production on the next season set to begin soon. During an appearance on Chris Evans' Virgin Radio Breakfast programme, Marshall confirmed that filming for season five had already started, though he remained tight-lipped about plot details. When asked about the show's longevity, he joked: "How long can a marriage last? I am kidding, I am kidding. I am not gonna give away spoilers, they haven't even written it yet."
Fan Casting Suggestion
Off-screen, fans have suggested Marshall would be perfect to play Arthur Weasley in HBO's upcoming Harry Potter series. One Reddit user wrote: "The right age, funny, definitely capable of that wide-eyed enthusiasm, but as his tone on Death in Paradise shows, more than capable of handling the more dramatic moments. Kris Marshall would be the perfect Mr Weasley." Another added: "This might be my new favourite Arthur-fancast!"
