Klitschko's Heartbreaking Tribute to Panettiere on Her Birthday

Wladimir Klitschko has paid a heartbreaking tribute to Hayden Panettiere on what would have been her 37th birthday, just days after her death. The former couple shared a daughter, Kaya, born in 2014.

A Heartfelt Message on Instagram

Klitschko, who was in a relationship with the actress from 2009 to 2019, posted a picture of Panettiere on Instagram with a message marking the occasion. He wrote: "Today is Hayden’s birthday. Instead of celebrating the way we had planned, today we celebrate her life, her spirit, and the love she brought into this world."

He thanked fans and friends for their support, adding: "I want to thank all of Hayden’s fans, friends, and everyone who has reached out for the incredible outpouring of love and support. At a time filled with so much sadness, your kindness has reminded me that there is still so much good in humanity."

A Call for Love and Kindness

Addressing his followers, Klitschko urged: "If you’re reading this, I ask just one thing: even if only for a moment, think about LOVE. Reach out to a friend. Forgive someone. Be kind. Love is a superpower. Use it." He concluded: "Happy Birthday, Hayden. You are loved, you are missed, and you will never be forgotten."

Several celebrities commented on the post. Selma Blair wrote: "Happy birthday Hayden. I am so grateful you have such a wonderful daughter. So much love. Love." Sam Palladio, her Nashville co-star, added: "Sending love on this sad day."

Life and Career Remembered

Panettiere died on Sunday at her home in South Carolina. She was a child star, appearing in soap operas and the 2000 sports drama Remember the Titans, before landing a lead role in Heroes and starring in six seasons of Nashville. She also appeared in Bring It On: All or Nothing, Raising Helen, and several Scream films.

She later revealed she battled addiction in her 20s due to early fame and dealt with postpartum depression after her daughter's birth, whom she gave full custody to Klitschko. A criminal investigation has reportedly been launched into her death. Her cause of death has not been confirmed, though the Coroner's office said her autopsy showed no signs of trauma. She was found at home with ex-boyfriend Brian Hickerson and his brother Zack, who discovered her unresponsive and called police.
