Wladimir Klitschko, the heavyweight boxer and ex-partner of Hayden Panettiere, has paid a touching tribute to the actress on what would have been her birthday. Panettiere, best known for her role in Heroes, died aged 36 on 16 August, just days before her birthday.
A Birthday Tribute
Taking to X/Twitter, Klitschko wrote: "Today is Hayden’s birthday. Instead of celebrating the way we had planned, today we celebrate her life, her spirit, and the love she brought into this world. I want to thank all of Hayden’s fans, friends, and everyone who has reached out for the incredible outpouring of love and support."
He continued: "At a time filled with so much sadness, your kindness has reminded me that there is still so much good in humanity. If you’re reading this, I ask just one thing: even if only for a moment, think about LOVE."
Fans Offer Support
The boxer signed off with: "You are loved, you are missed, and you will never be forgotten," as fans gathered in the replies to offer their support. One person said: "Such beautiful words. What an absolute tragedy."
Another wrote: "Although Hayden is no longer physically here, her spirit will forever be a guardian angel watching over your daughter from above. Never take your loved ones for granted & love fiercely, for there are no guarantees that tomorrow will bring another chance to say what matters most."
A third person joined in: "Sending prayers and love to you and your daughter, so sorry," while someone else added: "She truly was a bright light. Condolences to you and your daughter. May you both be surrounded with plenty of healing love and care."

Panettiere's death was confirmed by a representative, who shared the statement: "It is with profound sadness that we share the tragic passing of our beloved Hayden." The statement added: "She was an incredible light and a force of nature who brought immeasurable love and joy to all who knew her – and to the millions who watched her onscreen."
