Kim Kardashian arrived at the Academy Museum Gala on Saturday night in Los Angeles wearing a striking face mask that completely obscured her vision. The reality star and businesswoman wore a Margiela couture gown by designer Glenn Martens, which she described as having a 'Skims-y' aesthetic.
Speaking exclusively on the red carpet, Kardashian revealed that the look was a last-minute decision, having flown in her favourite makeup artist Mario Dedivanovic from New York. She confirmed she had 'full hair and makeup' underneath the mask, which she planned to remove once inside the event.
Kardashian also discussed her new limited-edition Skims product: faux hair micro string thongs, priced at $32. The items sold out within minutes of release. She explained the idea came from a photoshoot where someone wanted hair 'down there', leading her to create a thong version for convenience.
Later in the evening, Kardashian was spotted inside the gala without the face covering. The event, presented by Rolex, honoured Penélope Cruz, Walter Salles, Bruce Springsteen and Bowen Yang, raising funds for the museum's exhibitions and educational programmes.
