Kerry Katona Hospitalised With Colitis, Treated in Corridor Due to Overcrowding

Former Atomic Kitten star Kerry Katona has been rushed to hospital and is being treated in a corridor due to overcrowding. The 45-year-old shared a video on Instagram Stories from her hospital bed, revealing she has been there since the previous morning.

In the video, Katona appeared groggy and showed an intravenous cannula in her arm. She explained that the hospital is very full, so she is on a bed in the hall near the nurses' station. She said she is suffering from colitis, a condition related to her bowel, and described the experience as "s**t – excuse the pun."

According to the NHS, ulcerative colitis is a long-term condition causing inflammation of the colon and rectum, with symptoms including frequent bowel movements, tummy pain, and recurring diarrhoea. This is not the first health issue for Katona; last year she revealed she developed alopecia following her split from fiancé Ryan Mahoney.

Katona has since moved on with Paolo Margaglione, whom she met on Celebs Go Dating. The couple have been together nearly a year and recently celebrated a milestone, but Katona has stated there is no rush for marriage or more children. She wrote in her new! magazine column that she is enjoying the journey and focusing on date nights and juggling their families.
