Kerry Katona has revealed she is considering surrogacy to have a sixth child with her fiancé Ryan Mahoney, after a traumatic birth with her youngest son nearly killed her. The 40-year-old TV star, who has five children from previous relationships, said she plans to freeze her eggs so Ryan can have a biological child without her having to carry the pregnancy.
Speaking about her decision, Katona said: 'Why put myself through that when I could go through surrogacy?' She previously admitted she 'nearly died' during the birth of seven-year-old Dylan-Jorge, her son with late third husband George Kay. The former Atomic Kitten singer also has Molly-Marie, 19, and Lilly-Sue, 18, from her first marriage to Brian McFadden, and Heidi, 14, and Maxwell, 13, from her second marriage to Mark Croft.
Katona, who met Mahoney on dating app Bumble three years ago, said she had 'given up on love' before their relationship. Despite joking that they 'quarrel', she insists they are 'best mates'. However, when asked about wedding plans on Instagram Live, she replied: 'There's no wedding plans, we've not organised anything.'
The I'm A Celebrity winner also opened up about her children, admitting they are 'very spoilt' due to her overcompensating for past mistakes. She said: 'The abuse my kids get because I'm their mum... I've over-compensated for the mistakes I've made in the past.' Katona is currently focusing on her move to Hale, Cheshire, and expanding her clothing line Kerry's Boutique with a plus-size range.
