Kelly Piquet on London: Bulgari, Notting Hill and David Bowie
Kelly Piquet on London: Bulgari, Notting Hill and David Bowie

Model and columnist Kelly Piquet, who lives in Monaco with her daughters Penelope and Lily, has shared her favourite London spots in a new interview.

Favourite London Hotels and Restaurants

For a romantic weekend, Piquet recommends the Bulgari hotel, describing it as elegant, discreet and home to one of her favourite spas. When travelling with her daughters, she stays at the Connaught, citing its incredible service and warm, family-friendly atmosphere.

Piquet names two standout meals: Dorian for its incredible food and relaxed atmosphere, and Carbone London for the energy, people-watching and spicy rigatoni. For a first date, she suggests a walk around Notting Hill followed by dinner at Gold.

Shopping and Culture

Piquet shops at Dover Street Market for fashion inspiration, Daunt for books, Space NK for skincare, Liberty for gifts and Selfridges for last-minute essentials and beauty. She calls the Selfridges beauty floor hard to beat and stocks up on Anastasia Beverly Hills products there.

Her favourite work of art in London is the J M W Turner paintings at Tate Britain. She considers David Bowie the most iconic Londoner, calling him a true original who influenced music, fashion and culture.

Lifestyle and Extravagance

Piquet exercises at Alo Wellness Club or by taking long walks through Hyde Park. She lets her hair down in Notting Hill or Mayfair, starting with dinner at a neighbourhood spot before wandering into a cosy pub or cocktail bar with live music.

Her biggest extravagance is travel, saying she never regrets spending money on experiences. Favourite destinations include St Barths for its relaxed atmosphere and beautiful beaches, and Japan for discovering something new on every visit.

Piquet collects books from her travels and vintage fashion pieces, especially vintage Chanel and Hermès. She likes the idea of giving something another life rather than always buying new.

If she were Mayor for the day, Piquet would create more pedestrian-only areas, hold more outdoor fitness classes and organise a giant city-wide summer dinner party.
