Kelly Osbourne has admitted she was left horrified when she realised just how thin she had become following the death of her father, Ozzy Osbourne. The 41-year-old TV star revealed she had "no idea" how much weight she had lost until she saw a photograph of herself while trying on outfits, an image that left her terrified.
'I Looked Like the Crypt Keeper'
Recalling the moment, Kelly said: "I looked like the f****** Crypt Keeper. I said, 'This is scary. I didn't know I looked like this'." The daughter of Sharon Osbourne and the late Black Sabbath legend said the weight loss had become so dramatic that "you could see every single bone" in her spine.
Kelly has previously spoken about struggling after her famous father's death, admitting she was "so sick" while dealing with her grief. She has now revealed that those around her had become increasingly concerned about her appearance, although she was unable to see what they could see. The star explained that she was in "so much pain" at the time and simply saw "a broken person" when she looked in the mirror.
Hiding Her Frame
In a bid to conceal just how gaunt she had become, Kelly resorted to wearing a wig. She said: "I wore a wig to cover my face, so you couldn't see how skinny my cheekbones really were."
Earlier this year, Kelly made a public appearance at the Brit Awards to accept a posthumous Lifetime Achievement Award on behalf of Ozzy. But she has now admitted that, looking back, she does not believe she should have attended.
Regret Over Brit Awards Appearance
"I was scared," Kelly said, explaining that she desperately wanted to support mum Sharon and pay tribute to her dad's legacy. She added: "But in all honesty, when I reflect on it, I don't think I should have gone. I wasn't very well."
Kelly has since spoken about trying to rebuild her life following Ozzy's death, saying she is taking things one day at a time. She previously admitted that a part of her had died when she lost her dad, saying everything in her life had changed. But she did her best to hide her pain from three-year-old son Sidney, adding: "I didn't cry in front of him; I'd walk out of the room. I always made sure that he was not exposed to inappropriate sorrow."
