Katy Perry has revealed that she and Orlando Bloom will not walk down the aisle until after she celebrates her 40th birthday. The singer, who turns 40 in October, shared the news during an appearance on Heart Breakfast with Jamie Theakston and Zoe Hardman.
The couple originally planned to marry on 27 February 2020, but were forced to postpone the ceremony because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Perry explained: "COVID happened and now I have a really large credit at a venue I'm going to use. I just can't tell you more."
Speaking about her original wedding dress, Perry admitted it would need to be reworked. "I was pregnant then, so it's different. We're going to rework the whole thing," she said, joking that the wedding might be held at Theakston's house when asked if it would take place in the UK.
Perry and Bloom first met at a Golden Globes party in 2016, bonding over burgers from In-N-Out. The couple briefly split in 2017 before reconciling the following year. Bloom proposed on Valentine's Day in 2019, and their daughter Daisy Dove was born in August 2020.
Reflecting on motherhood, Perry told Heart Breakfast: "I climbed every mountain, a lot of mountains, a lot of Everests in my life. I was looking for these views and then I met her and I was like, that's the view I've been looking for. Now the joy is not outside of myself, it's within me and it's with her and it's like nothing is stopping that."
