Katie Price's sister Sophie takes swipe at Lee Andrews over Jake joke

Sophie Price has taken a swipe at her brother-in-law Lee Andrews, joking that Jake Quickenden would be a "pleasant upgrade" during the latest episode of the Katie Price Show podcast.

The comment came as Katie and Sophie discussed the 48-year-old's fourth marriage, which has been the subject of speculation following a series of cryptic online posts.

On-stage exchange with Jake Quickenden

During a recent appearance on This Morning, Ben Shephard jokingly suggested "someone who would be great" for Katie was Jake Quickenden. The pair were both on hosting duty at the Hair and Beauty Awards in Manchester earlier this month, and Katie mentioned it on stage.

Katie asked Jake: "Sorry, I'm just researching, am I your type or not?" He replied: "You're a beautiful lady, Kate, get on with the awards!"

On the podcast, Katie explained: "He happened to be at the [same] event, and me being me whether I am on stage or not, I am just myself."

Sophie's dig at Lee Andrews

Sophie joked that Katie had made a pass at the I'm A Celebrity runner-up, who confirmed he had split from Sophie Church in an emotional statement in June.

Katie replied: "I'm not looking for a man," but conceded: "But I just said it on stage. That was it. You know what I'm like."

Sophie then said: "Well, that might be a little, pleasant upgrade!" before giving a middle finger to the camera. Katie swiftly responded: "Right, let's move on!"

Cryptic posts and marriage speculation

Earlier this week, Katie shared posts on her Instagram Story as speculation continues to surround her relationship with Lee, whom she married earlier this year after the pair had known each other for just days.

One post read: "My side of the story doesn't matter anymore. Life happened, it hurt, I healed, but most importantly, I learned who deserves a seat at my table and who will never sit at it again."

Another read: "I will never, ever forget who helped me in difficult times, who put me in difficult times, and who left me in difficult times." Katie added her own message over the post, writing in her trademark pink: "I survived."

The posts came after she was spotted without her wedding ring. Lee first sparked concern when he went missing in May, and Katie didn't hear from the businessman for days. It eventually emerged that he had been incarcerated at Dubai's Al Awir prison before being released in June. He reportedly returned to the prison for a second time in July. It's believed his arrests have been connected to allegations of fraud, unpaid debts and private civil disputes.
