Katie Price has faced backlash from fans after suggesting she may rehome some of her 17 pets due to her frequent travel between England and Dubai. The former glamour model, who married Dubai businessman Lee Andrews in January, discussed the situation in a YouTube vlog, saying she needed to 're-evaluate' her life and 'sort out' what to do with her animals.
In the video, Price said: 'I’ve got 12 animals in the house. I know I like things excessive like big cars, big boobs, big bum, lots of animals, horses, this, that. I think I need to re-evaluate my life a little bit and just have a little think about everything.' She later realised she actually owns 17 animals, exclaiming: 'I’ve got 17 animals, oh my God.'
Fans expressed outrage in the comments, with one writing: 'Please help her animals.' Another accused her of neglect, stating: 'You shouldn’t be allowed to have pets you have a record of neglect and cruelty.' A third added: 'How can you even think of getting rid of your animals. That’s disgusting! They’re not disposable.'
Price has a troubled history with pet ownership. In 2017, one of her horses was killed after escaping onto a road. Her dog Queenie was hit by a car in 2018 after a gate was left open. Two other dogs died in road accidents in 2020 and 2022, and animal rights group PETA criticised her in 2023, saying she had 'blood on her hands'. A petition to prevent her from owning pets has gathered 37,000 signatures.
