Katie Price has shared her hopes of turning son Harvey's creative talents into a career, while admitting his love of technology comes with an expensive problem at home.
Speaking on The Katie Price Show podcast with her sister Sophie Price, the former glamour model revealed Harvey, 24, spends hours creating artwork and stories on his iPads, with each device serving a different purpose. However, she said she is now preparing to buy yet another tablet after he became determined to get one of his older devices working again.
Katie explained: "So I'm having to go and get him another iPad today because he's driving me mad. And it's like, you do realise, people only have one iPad, and it lasts. No, Mum, no, ugh."
She said Harvey uses several iPads at once before combining his work into a single finished project. Katie remarked: "But he does actually do different things on all of them, then puts it all together, which is good, but it's like three iPads."
Expensive Habit
Although replacing the devices has become costly, Katie said they are essential because Harvey uses them for drawing, writing, photography and making music. She also dismissed suggestions that simply putting protective cases on the tablets would solve the problem, insisting people underestimate Harvey's strength.
She said: "And everyone's always like, you should put cases on. No, Harvey's strength. If he can break a window screen by punching it, he can break an iPad."
Publishing Ambitions
Despite the expense, Katie believes Harvey's creativity could become much more than a hobby. She revealed she wants to approach publishers about producing a series of children's books based on the stories and illustrations he already creates digitally.
Katie said: "But I want to go to a publisher, because I think Harvey would be amazing at bringing out his own children's books." Explaining where the idea came from, she added: "This is what he does on his iPads. He draws pictures and then he makes a story up next to them."
Katie said she hopes to make the project a reality, adding: "That's what I'm going to try and do for Harv."
Family Challenges
The comments come as Katie continues to speak openly about the challenges she has faced both privately and publicly. The 48-year-old first found fame as Page 3 model Jordan in the 1990s before building a career across television, publishing and business, while also enduring a series of highly publicised personal struggles.
In her documentary Katie Price: Nothing To Hide, her children Junior and Princess Andre reflected on one of the darkest periods in the family's life following Katie's split from her third husband, Kieran Hayler, after his infidelity. Junior said: "When Kieran Hayler cheated on her the first time, that literally broke her." "That was probably the most difficult time of my life – of our lives – probably," he added, referring to himself and his younger sister.
