Katie Price has shared a photo of her son Harvey in the gym after he lost two stone, following his use of the diabetes drug Mounjaro. The 48-year-old has been documenting the 24-year-old's progress as he works to lose more weight.
Harvey's weight loss journey
Harvey, who lives with Prader-Willi syndrome, blindness and autism, began taking Mounjaro in August. The decision came amid fears he would have a heart attack after reaching 30 stone. His rare condition causes a constant hunger that can lead to severe obesity.
Katie has been showing off his hard work, recently snapping him with boxing gloves on during a sparring session. In the photo, Harvey can be seen with a big smile on his face as he punched the pads, with Katie captioning the post: "Proud mummy."
Mounjaro and its effects
Katie explained her decision to use the medication on her podcast, which she co-hosts with her sister Sophie. She told listeners: "He's started Mounjaro because I told you he's lost two stone. Harvey has been on the Mounjaro nearly a month, he's got one week left. I've been cooking meals like in the containers, batching cooking, then I've been eating them as well."
She added: "I have noticed, I don't know anyone else who has taken Mounjaro, a lot of my friends have, I asked them. The past week, Harvey is now wanting more food, more this, is that because he needs to up the level? Which they are doing in a week. I've noticed it. He goes back in a week and I can't wait to see what he's lost."
Health concerns and family life
Last month, Katie revealed her son was now at "high risk of having a heart attack." She said: "It's getting to a point now, where he doesn't want to walk anywhere, he gets out of breath and sweats and they have said he is at high risk of having a heart attack. You try to [force him to walk] but he literally breaks into a sweat. I bath him twice a day and it breaks my heart seeing him get in and out of the bath because he's so big and heavy."
When asked if Harvey ever gets upset over his weight, Katie replied: "No. He says he's got Santa's belly, he's all about Christmas now. It's funny, if he sees someone with a big belly, he goes 'you're a fat pepper pig', randomly in the shops. He just comes out with it and I go: 'Harv, you mustn't say that' and he goes 'sorry, d***head', and I'm like 'Harv, you mustn't call them a d***head'."
